Job summary

Surgicenter of Kansas City, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support safe and effective nursing care in the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will scrub for procedures, assist surgeons, and help with turnover and data collection per facility protocols.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, Surgical Tech Certification, and BCLS certification, with about one year OR experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required per facility practice and state regulatory requirement; otherwise preferred.
• Surgical Tech Certification is required.
• One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center).
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment — Online certification not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care and observation in the operating room.
• Scrub and assist the surgeon at the operative field; maintain surgical asepsis.
• Turnover the operating room between cases and prepare the next procedure room.
• Record pertinent clinical data in the medical record and collaborate with the RN in decision making.
