Trinity Health's Grand Haven Hospital is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the surgical team in a busy daytime environment. You will assist in operative procedures, prepare rooms and maintain sterile fields while upholding the highest safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program.
• Surgical Technology certification or completion of certification within 1 year of hire.
• AST certification preferred.
• 1 year prior work experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Current BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
• Pulls cases from preference cards accurately and completely.
• Prepares room with instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.
• Sets up for procedures.
• Assists the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Breaks down sterile field after procedures.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures.
• Restocks, maintains and cares for equipment and supplies across the department.

What You Will Do

• Maintains Established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, infection control and AORN standards.
• Pulls cases from preference cards accurately and completely.
• Prepares room with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.
• Sets up for procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Proper breakdown of sterile field after procedures.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures.
• Restocks, maintains and cares for equipment and supplies department wide.

What You Will Need

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program.
• Surgical Technology certification or completion of certification within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) certification.
• Preferred One-year prior work experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
• Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
• Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization.
• Current BLS Certification.
