Job summary

Kansas City Urology Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will contribute to safe and effective nursing care within the defined scope of practice, supporting the surgeon and nursing team.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, preparing the operative suite, turnover between cases, and ensuring asepsis. Requires surgical tech certification and BCLS, with OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required per facility practice and state regulatory requirements.
• Surgical Tech Certification
• One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably ambulatory surgery center)
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (Online certification not acceptable)

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care and observation in the operating room.
• Scrub and assist the surgeon at the operative field.
• Turnover operating rooms between cases; dispose of waste and clean equipment.
• Prepare procedure rooms for next day; report needs to supervisor.
• Maintain surgical asepsis in instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, and dressings.
