Job summary

SSM Health is seeking an Operating Room Technician in Madison, WI to provide patient care activities and support the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will set up the OR, gather supplies, x-rays, and instruments for cases and communicate information to the RN.

This 34-hour per week day-shift position requires graduation from a technical program for operating room technicians; no prior experience is required.

• Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Practices and implements the technical components of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Collaborates with the RN and other healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care.
• Prepares equipment, supplies, and resources based on an individualized plan of care.
• Communicates accurate and timely information to the RN regarding patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to operate surgical equipment and maintain aseptic technique.
• Maintains an organized work environment and prioritizes tasks.
