Job summary

SSM Health's St. Agnes Hospital in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Surgery Center team. This 24-hour weekly position on a day shift offers a collaborative environment with a focus on patient care and safe operating room practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience or Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
• Prior operating room experience or graduation from an approved surgical technician program or nursing program with licensure equivalency

Responsibilities

• Practices and implements the technical components of patient care under the supervision of a RN.
• Collaborates with the RN and other healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care.
• Prepares equipment, supplies and resources based on an individualized plan of care; re-evaluates needs as required.
• Communicates accurate and timely information to the RN regarding patients.
• Operates surgical equipment, maintains aseptic technique, and ensures proper handling of supplies and instruments.
• Follows laboratory policies to handle and label specimens; documents quality controls.
• Demonstrates problem solving, teamwork, and prioritization in a fast-paced surgical setting.
• Maintains organized work environment and efficient time management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
