Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and supporting the surgical team. This full-time, day-shift role offers hands-on instrumentation support and adherence to sterile technique.

Requirements include a High School Grad or Equiv, completion of an approved Surgical Technician program, and BLS CPR with CST or NTSC certification. Prior experience is preferred.

• Technical/Vocational School required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with terminal cleaning of the operating room, puts equipment, supplies, and instruments away as required, and assists in prepping the room for the next patient.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures, reviews and replaces supplies in the surgical case following a procedure, and discards expired medications per protocol.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares solutions and medications, labels them properly, and reports amounts used for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon's preference card.
