Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System in Albany, GA is seeking a Surgical Technologist (CST) to provide technical services under supervision of RNs and physicians. The role may work in the operating room or Central Sterile Processing and supports sterile prep and instrument handling.

Requirements include a Vocational/Technical Degree in an Accredited Surgical Technology Program, CST certification and BLS. Prior experience is preferred but not required (0-1 year). The position is full-time with day shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires Vocational/Technical Degree in Accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• 0–1 year Surgical technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with surgical procedures in collaboration with Registered Nurse.
• Pull cases according to doctor preference cards.
• Maintain and prepare sterile field.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures.
• Anticipate needs of surgeon.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments, sutures, etc.
