Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to assist in the care of the surgical patient. You will manage instruments, supplies and equipment, assist the surgeon, and maintain the sterile field under supervision and guidance of nursing and management staff.

The role is full-time with a day shift (10 hours) and on-call rotations, offering a sign-on bonus up to $25,000 or student loan repayment up to $15,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED - required.
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - required; BLS - required.
• Experience in a Surgical Technician role or completion of a hands-on Surgical Tech training/course - required.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the surgeon and the Circulating Nurse and overall direction of the Assistant Managers, OR Manager, Director of Surgical Services and Vice President of Patient Care Services the Certified Surgical Technician (CST) assists in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient. The CST handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. The CST has the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
