Job summary

A healthcare provider in Cape Girardeau is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to assist in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient. The CST will handle instruments and ensure quality patient care during procedures with a full-time schedule of 80 hours per 2-week pay period and substantial benefits. A sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is available for eligible applicants. The ideal candidate must hold a CST certification and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the surgeon and the Circulating Nurse and overall direction of the Assistant Managers, OR Manager, Director of Surgical Services and Vice President of Patient Care Services the Certified Surgical Technician (CST) assists in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient. The CST handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. The CST has the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field.

Job Details And Requirements

Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2‑week pay period, with benefits)

Typical Hours: Day shift, 10 hours/shift, on call rotation

Up to a $25,000 Sign‑on bonus!

Education

• High school diploma or GED required

License / Certification

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Experience

• Experience within a Surgical Technician role or completion of a hands‑on Surgical Tech training/course required.
