Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville, SC is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in patient care before, during and after surgical procedures. This novice to advanced beginner role focuses on scrubbing, instrument handling, specimen care and maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Night shift available; excellent teamwork and adherence to sterile standards are essential. Certification in CST or equivalent is required or obtainable based on experience; ongoing education is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training.
• No prior experience required.
• Maintains required certification(s) in surgical technology (CST/NCTS as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Prepare for procedures by collecting supplies and instruments per Surgeon Preference Card.
• Set up the Operating Room with sterile supplies and instruments for each case.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures and track instrument counts.
• Care for specimens and handle drugs under RN direction.
• Maintain aseptic technique and prevent breaches.
• Mentor and train coworkers and onboard new team members when needed.
• Complete annual age-specific accountabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
