Job summary

Prisma Health in Greer (Greer Medical Campus, The Family Birthplace) is seeking a Surgical Technologist at a novice to advanced beginner level. You will assist in perioperative care, prepare the OR, pass instruments, maintain aseptic technique, and support the surgical team during procedures.

Night shift assignments require compliance with safety standards and continuing education. Prior experience not required; certification (CST) or eligibility is expected, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Surgical Technology or equivalent required.
• Must obtain CST - Surgical Technologist certification.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted if previously employed as ST in SC.
• 15 hours of ST continuing education annually.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for procedures by gathering supplies and instruments per Surgeon Preference Card.
• Sets up the OR and assists the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique and ensures instrument counts accuracy.
• Cares for specimens and handles drugs under RN direction.
• Cleans rooms between cases and at the end of the day.
