Job summary

Prisma Health at Greenville Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in patient care before, during and after operative procedures. You will perform scrub duties as a member of the surgical team on a novice to advanced beginner level, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Education is a Surgical Technology program or military training; CST certification is required or TS-C may be accepted.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• CST certification required; TS-C acceptable if SC prior to 2008.
• Maintains patient safety, privacy and confidentiality.
• Adheres to sterilization standards and handling of sharps.
• Ability to complete 15 hours of mandatory ST education annually.

Responsibilities

• Assists in surgery by scrub duties and related functions.
• Prepares the Operating Room for cases by opening sterile supplies and arranging instruments.
• Maintains aseptic technique and monitors for breaches.
• Assists with coaching, mentoring and training coworkers as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
