Job summary

Ardent Health Services seeks a night-shift, PRN Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Amarillo, TX. The CST collaborates with surgeons and nurses to support safe operative care and maintains sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role requires CST certification (NBSTSA/NCCT as applicable) and BLS within 14 days of hire, following a CAAHEP-accredited program. Prior surgical tech experience is preferred, with the hospital offering a supportive environment and career growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a CST certification from NBSTSA or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures under supervision.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety during operative procedures.
• Ensure operating room safety, proper equipment function, and adherence to sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
