Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a night-shift, PRN Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join Labor and Delivery. The CST works under the supervision of surgeons and nurses to prepare and assist in invasive procedures and maintain a sterile field.

Requirements include CST certification from NBSTSA or NCCT (if practicing before 2009), BLS within 14 days of hire, and completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program. Prior CST experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.

Responsibilities

• The CST works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintains the sterile field.

• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Qualifications

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous experience as a surgical technologist.
