Job summary

Baptist Health System in San Antonio is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients, supporting safe, sterile procedures and patient comfort. This role may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

You will work within a team dedicated to exceptional patient care, following established standards, completing competencies within the introductory period, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a DOE/CHEA-accredited surgical technology program.
• RN/other clinical support certifications accepted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients.
• Support sterile technique, instrument handling, and safety protocols throughout procedures.
• Assist in the operating room and post-anesthesia recovery as directed.

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. Provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical/obstetric patients along the continuum of the age spectrum facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Follows established practices and standards. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High-school graduate and Graduate of a Department of Education (DOE) or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited surgical technology program.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: None

Experience:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in acute care or ambulatory setting

Certifications:

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: BHS accepts certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); TS-C (Technician in Surgery-Certified).
