Job summary

A leading healthcare provider located in Cibolo, Texas is seeking a Surgical/OB Technologist responsible for providing direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients. Successful candidates should be high-school graduates with a Diploma in an accredited surgical technology program. While no prior experience is necessary, 1 year of experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting is preferred, along with necessary certifications. This role supports community health and excellence in patient care.

Summary

Provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical/obstetric patients along the continuum of the age spectrum facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Follows established practices and standards. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Required Certifications/License

BHS accepts certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); TS-C (Technician in Surgery-Certified).

Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
