Job summary

North Central Baptist Hospitals is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients across the age spectrum. You will support safe invasive procedures and work within the Baptist Health System guidelines.

The role requires graduation from a DOE/CHEA accredited surgical technology program and a minimum of 1 year of experience, with a BLS certification. A sign-on bonus may be offered.

Qualifications

• High-school graduate required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Surgical/OB Technologist in acute care or ambulatory setting.
• BLS certification obtained through AHA or equivalent training.

Provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical/obstetric patients along the continuum of the age spectrum facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Follows established practices and standards. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High-school graduate and Graduate of a Department of Education (DOE) or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited surgical technology program.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: None

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in acute care or ambulatory setting

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: BHS accepts certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); TS-C (Technician in Surgery–Certified).

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training or the Military Training Network
