Summary

The Surgical Technologist provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical/obstetric patients along the continuum of the age spectrum, facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Follows established practices and standards, supports the mission statement, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System, completes established competencies within the designated introductory period, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High‑school graduate and a graduate of a DOE or CHEA accredited surgical technology program.
• Preferred Experience: 1 year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
• Required Certifications/Licensure: BHS accepts certifications from NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT (TS‑C).
• Required Courses: Must have active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (AHA) on hire; AHA BLS within 60 days of hire.
