Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA Only).

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures.
• Scrub and assist during surgeries while maintaining sterile technique.
• Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs throughout procedures.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges according to policy.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and operative site preparation.
• Handle and process surgical specimens according to protocol.
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Clean and restock operating rooms following procedures.
• Prepare contaminated instruments for transport and sterilization.
• Adhere to AORN, OSHA, infection control, and hospital safety standards.

Work Schedule

4x10s, 0630-1700 (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri) CALL REQUIRED: 3-4 weekdays (1700-0700); 1 weekend 1st call and 1 weekend 2nd call (24hrs 0700-0700)

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the intraoperative phase of patient care, assisting surgeons and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and supporting positive patient outcomes.
