Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a 13-week travel contract in a hospital setting near Pittsburgh, PA. The role supports a fast-paced OR team, prepares rooms and equipment, and maintains sterile technique.

You will assist surgeons, pass instruments, perform counts, and help with patient positioning, room turnover, and adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols. Travel experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current CST certification through NBSTSA or applicable national certification.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience in acute-care hospital or operating room setting.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation and infection control.
• Ability to work independently in a travel hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment prior to procedures.
• Set up sterile instruments, supplies, and surgical trays.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and operating room staff during procedures.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies as requested.
• Perform surgical counts according to facility policies.
• Assist with positioning and preparation of patients.
• Maintain organization and readiness of the sterile field.
• Assist with room turnover between surgical cases.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and hospital protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia staff, and other members of the surgical team.

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) on a 13-week travel contract in a hospital setting, working day and night shifts in Southern Pittsburgh. The role supports a fast-paced operating room team and contributes to efficient surgical care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment prior to procedures.

• Set up sterile instruments, supplies, and surgical trays.

• Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.

• Assist surgeons and operating room staff during procedures.

• Pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies as requested.
