Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a Travel Certified Surgical Technologist for a 13-week hospital assignment in Southern Pittsburgh. You will provide safe, sterile surgical support across day and night shifts and assist surgeons and OR staff to maintain efficient operating room operations in a fast-paced acute-care setting.

You hold CST and BLS certifications, with prior acute-care OR experience and sterile technique expertise.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Previous surgical technologist experience in an acute-care hospital or operating room setting.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and infection control.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a travel hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment before procedures.
• Set up sterile instruments, supplies, and surgical trays.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and operating room staff during procedures.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies as requested.
• Perform surgical counts according to facility policies.
• Assist with positioning and preparation of patients.
• Maintain organization and readiness of the sterile field.
• Assist with room turnover between surgical cases.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and hospital protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia staff, and other team members.
