Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech for the CDH Neuro Operating Room on a full-time rotating shift. The role supports safe, efficient surgical procedures and maintains the instrument count and sterility throughout operations.

Candidates should graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, obtain CST within 12 months of hire, and hold CPR–Basic Life Support certification. Northwestern Medicine emphasizes strong benefits and equal opportunity commitments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and continually accounts for instruments and supplies.

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and functionality of equipment and instruments.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.
