Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support safe and efficient surgical procedures at our facility in Illinois. The role emphasizes preparing the operating suite, assisting with patient positioning, and passing instruments to the surgeon while maintaining accurate counts of instruments and supplies.

This position requires CST certification within a year of hire and CPR/BLS certification. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling similar loads.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.
• Physical demands include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

Responsibilities:

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and functionality of equipment and instruments.


• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.


• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.


• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program


• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire


• CPR – Basic Life Support
