Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a per diem, nights position. You will assist surgeons, nurses and the team in a fast-paced OR, ensuring sterile, safe procedures and efficient instrument handling.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technology program and CST certification on hire, with current BLS. Per diem hours and variable shifts offer flexibility for experienced CSTs in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists with CST certification required at hire.
• Experience scrubbing for general, urology, eye (cataracts), gynecology, minor vascular and hand surgeries.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification preferred or required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative preparation: sterilize and arrange instruments and equipment and position patient.
• Intraoperative support: pass instruments and maintain sterile field during surgery.
• Postoperative duties: apply dressings, transfer patient to recovery, restock OR.
• Safety and compliance: follow infection control protocols and regulatory standards.
• Collaboration: communicate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and staff.

We are seeking aCertified Surgical Technologist(CST),sometimes referred to as a Surgical TechorORTech. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in ouroperatingroom,assistssurgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members before, during, and after surgical procedures.SurgicalTechsprimary goal is to help ensure safe, efficient, and sterile surgical environments.This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative Preparation- Set up the operating room by sterilizing and arranging instruments supplies and equipment while preparing patients for surgery through proper positioning and sterile draping

• Intraoperative Support- Assist during surgery by passing instrumentsmaintaininga sterile field and anticipating the surgical team’s needs while tracking instruments and sponges

• Postoperative Duties- Support postoperative care by applying dressings transporting patients to recovery and cleaning and restocking the operating room

• Safety and Compliance-Follow strict infection control protocols ensure safe handling of specimens andmaintaincompliance with hospital and regulatory standards

• Collaboration and Communication-Collaborate with surgeons,nurses,anesthesiologistsand sterile processing staff while communicating effectively in high-pressure situations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists with a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification upon hire required and maintained for employment
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, General, Urology, Eye (cataracts), Gynecology, Minor Vascular and Hand Specialty.
• Experience in scrubbing minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
