Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to assist surgeons and the surgical team in a per diem role in the operating room.

You will support prep, intraoperative and postoperative tasks, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure patient safety during procedures. Nights shift with variable hours.

Qualifications

• CST certification required and maintained for employment.
• Experience scrubbing across General, Urology, Eye, Gynecology, Minor Vascular and Hand procedures.
• Current BLS (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative Preparation - Set up the operating room by sterilizing and arranging instruments, supplies and equipment while preparing patients for surgery through proper positioning and sterile draping
• Intraoperative Support - Assist during surgery by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field and anticipating the surgical team's needs while tracking instruments and sponges
• Postoperative Duties - Support postoperative care by applying dressings, transporting patients to recovery and cleaning and restocking the operating room
• Safety and Compliance - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure safe handling of specimens and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Collaboration and Communication - Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and sterile processing staff while communicating effectively in high-pressure situations

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), sometimes referred to as a Surgical Tech or OR Tech. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in our operating room, assists surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members before, during, and after surgical procedures. Surgical Techs primary goal is to help ensure safe, efficient, and sterile surgical environments. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists with a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification upon hire required and maintained for employment
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, General, Urology, Eye (cataracts), Gynecology, Minor Vascular and Hand Specialty.
• Experience in scrubbing minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
