Job summary

Roanoke Valley Center for Sight is seeking a qualified Certified Surgical Scrub Technician to join our fast-paced surgical team in Virginia. This role focuses on preparing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring instruments are ready for procedures.

Eligible candidates will have OR experience, Virginia certification, and a current BLS. We offer on-the-job training, comprehensive benefits, and a four-day workweek with ten-hour shifts to support your professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Surgical Scrub Technician certification/license
• Current BLS Certification
• Operating Room experience
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program or LPN licensure

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies based on physician preference cards.
• Follow strict aseptic techniques in all procedural areas.
• Ensure proper functioning and availability of instruments throughout procedures.
• Monitor and report any breaks in sterile technique.
• Clean, care for, and sterilize instruments and equipment per manufacturer and facility guidelines.
• Maintain inventory levels, update records, and ensure accurate instrument tracking.
• Operate sterilization equipment and perform biological and chemical testing as required.
• Assist with storage, restocking, and maintenance of sterile processing areas.

• Current Certified Surgical Scrub Technician certification/license in the state of Virginia
• Current BLS Certification
• Operating Room Experience
• Strong ethical and moral references
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure

Preferred:

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience
• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
