Roanoke Valley Center for Sight in Salem, VA is seeking a dedicated Certified Surgical Scrub Technician to join our fast-paced surgical team. You will prepare instruments, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure instrument readiness throughout procedures.

We offer on-site opportunities with comprehensive benefits, full-time hours, and a 4-day workweek option. Ideal candidates have Virginia scrub certification, BLS, OR experience, and ASC exposure.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Surgical Scrub Technician certification/license.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Operating Room experience.
• Strong ethical and moral references.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program or LPN licensure.
• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies per physician preference cards.
• Follow aseptic techniques in all procedural areas.
• Ensure proper functioning and availability of instruments throughout procedures.
• Monitor and report any breaks in sterile technique.
• Clean, care for, and sterilize instruments and equipment per guidelines.
• Maintain inventory levels, update records, and track instruments.
• Operate sterilization equipment and perform testing as required.
• Assist with storage, restocking, and maintenance of sterile areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies based on physician preference cards.
• Follow strict aseptic techniques in all procedural areas.
• Ensure proper functioning and availability of instruments throughout procedures.
• Monitor and report any breaks in sterile technique.
• Clean, care for, and sterilize instruments and equipment per manufacturer and facility guidelines.
• Maintain inventory levels, update records, and ensure accurate instrument tracking.
• Operate sterilization equipment and perform biological and chemical testing as required.
• Assist with storage, restocking, and maintenance of sterile processing areas.

QualificationsRequired:

• Current Certified Surgical Scrub Technician certification/license in the state of Virginia
• Current BLS Certification
• Operating Room Experience
• Strong ethical and moral references
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure

Preferred:

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience
• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
