Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support surgeons under supervision, applying sterile technique and anatomy knowledge during procedures.

The CSFA will handle retractors, suction and sponging of the operative field, place dressings, provide hemostasis and suturing, and may be required for on-call duties once credentialing is completed.

Qualifications

• Must have hospital and/or payer credentialing completed before functioning in this role.
• High School Diploma or GED is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Hold retractors, suction and sponging of the operative site.
• Apply dressings and provide hemostasis and suturing during procedures.
• May perform on-call services as needed and ensure credentialing is complete before work.
