Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assistant to support the surgeon during operations. Responsibilities include positioning, prepping, draping, tissue retraction and assisting with hemostasis and closure.

Requires at least 3 years as a Surgical Tech and 1 year as a Surgical First Assistant, plus CSFA and BLS certification. On-site, full-time role with occasional weekend and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent and Surgical Technology First Assist Certificate.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during procedures and communicate the surgeon's preferences to the team.
• Position, prep and drape patients; provide tissue retraction for optimal visualization.
• Assist with instrument/equipment selection, hemostasis, incision closure and other technical duties.
