Qualifications

• Knowledge and proficiency in perioperative practices as Surgical Technologist.
• Demonstrated knowledge of asepsis and infection control.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology and operative procedures.
• Maintains licensure as Surgical First Assistant where indicated by State Law.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with exposure and hemostasis for safe operation.
• Attends to patients' direct care needs under RN supervision.
• Assists with OR preparation and end-of-case activities.
• Drapes patient and maintains sterile field.
• Provides tissue retraction and maintains visualization under surgeon supervision.
• Assists with CPR when needed.
• Promotes patient safety and compliance with Universal Protocol.
