Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) to join the General Surgery team. The role involves assisting surgeons directly during procedures, positioning patients for optimal exposure, and maintaining sterile technique to ensure patient safety.

The candidate should hold a CSFA certification with NBSTSA, have at least 1 year of CSFA experience, and possess an associate degree or higher. A BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current Arizona CSFA certification with NBSTSA.
• Graduate of a program in discipline required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year CSFA experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures.
• Positions patients to maximize exposure and safety.
• Visualizes operative site and assists with tissue handling, suction, and irrigation.
• Assists with hemostasis and wound closure.
• Supports drainage systems and postoperative care setup.

$15,000 Sign on Bonus (3 yr commitment)

Schedule: 5x8, Day (6:30 am - 3:00 pm), Monday - Friday

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct assistance to the surgeon(s) during surgical procedures.
• Positions patients to give best exposure for surgical procedures, using stabilizing equipment, when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
• Provides visualization of the operative site using appropriate methods, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
• Assists with body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Arizona Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required. Associate's Degree Preferred. Minimum of 1 year of CSFA experience required.

Additional Requirements Include

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Licenses: Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Education: Associate degree Preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CSFA experience required.
