SteelCon Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking multiple full-time Certified Structural Welders to join our team. Work shifts from 7:00 am–4:00 pm or 5:30 pm–2:00 am, with overtime and some weekends as needed.

Qualifications

AWS certification for welding; certified on 1-inch plate in flat position.
Able to pass welding tests including fillet weld and shop drawings interpretation.
Able to read cutting lists, shop orders and shop drawings.
Able to perform general math calculations and readings.
Commitment to safety procedures and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

Plan, lay out, and fit metal components while maintaining alignment tolerances.
Set, fit, and erect structural assemblies and modules within alignment tolerances.
Locate and mark reference lines (center, buttock, and frame lines).
Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.
Install structural foundations and items like doors, hatches, brackets, and clips.
Tack weld panels, bulkhead, assemblies, and more.
Roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape metal parts using ironworkers, presses, cranes.
Follow blueprints and instructions with minimal supervision.
Comply with safety procedures, quality expectations, and company policies.
