Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the Evening Full Time shift in Austin, TX. You will operate sterilization equipment, decontaminate instruments, and ensure cleanliness and readiness for procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of sterile processing experience, with CBSPD or HSPA credentials preferred. Benefits include health coverage, retirement options, PTO, and tuition assistance.

• Maintains instrument counts and sets according to standards and tracking systems.

• Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
• Corrects instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
• Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
• Performs regular quality assurance program audits of peers.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• One or more of the following:
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• Evening Shift Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm
• 1+ yrs. experience as a Certified Sterile Processing Tech
