Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Surgery Center in Winston Salem. This full-time role (40 hours/week) operates Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. The position involves sterilization, decontamination, instrument inspection, and case cart assembly to support the OR team.

Responsibilities

Operate all department sterilization equipment and report issues.
Decontaminate instruments manually and automatically.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness and function.
Assemble instruments into containers per count sheets; package per manufacturer instructions.
Perform sterilization and verify process adequacy; maintain documentation.
Store sterile containers; assemble case carts for OR delivery.
Participate in surge plans and weekend call; assist teammates as needed.
