Job summary

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of packaging to promote successful sterilization.
• Understands practices for cleaning and care of surgical instruments and powered equipment and device manufacturer's written instructions for use.
• Reprocesses single-use devices only when FDA guidelines permit.
• Sterilizes supplies and instruments using steam or gas plasma (Sterrad).
• Operates washer/decontaminator per department policy and procedure.
