Job summary

SpecialtyCare is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of instruments for patient care. You will follow infection control practices and uphold quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CRCST, SPD training within six months, and attention to detail. Prior SPD experience is preferred; training is provided as needed; you will work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• CRCST certification is required/preferred as listed.
• SPD program completion within six months of hire.
• Prior sterile processing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment following infection control practices.
• Ensure client satisfaction while maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment using autoclaves and load/autoclave per procedure.
• Assemble and package instrument trays and supplies, label with identifying data and store accordingly.
• Submit requisitions and dispense products as requested; prioritize emergency requests.
• Replace damaged instruments to complete trays and maintain stock levels.
• Document work and maintain clean, organized work areas.
