Job summary

Novant Health's Matthews Medical Center is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join a fast-paced, patient-centered team. In this full-time role, you will clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute instruments, ensuring availability of sterile equipment to support patient care.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, one year in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, and a Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department experience preferred.
• Certified Sterile Reprocessing Tech (CBSPD/CRCST/CSPDT) required.
• Ability to validate skills and understanding of instrumentation and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment.
• Ensures the sterile instruments and equipment are available.
• Ensures all equipment is properly maintained, and ready for immediate use in order to support patient care.

What You'll Do

-Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
