Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the Medical Equipment department in Charlotte. The role entails high standards of safety, sterilization, and equipment testing in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include cleaning per IFU, high-level disinfection, instrument inspection, labeling, and operating sterilization equipment with proper documentation. High school diploma and CSPDT or CRCST certification required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or CRCST required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards.
• Identifies, responds & reports malfunctions and/ or alarms.
• Performs efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment.
• Identifies cleaning according to manufacturer's IFU for general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power instrumentation.
• Performs high level disinfection (HLD) for flexible scope processing.
• Prepares and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
• Inspects and packs instruments, verifies cleanliness and functionality.
• Labels and packages instrumentation following standards.
• Operates and maintains sterilization equipment with documented verification.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT)

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
