Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician to support decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments in the SPD.

The role requires knowledge of AAMI standards, a CS/SPD technician course, and a national CSPD or CRCST certification. The ideal candidate has 3 years of experience in a central sterile setting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with OR and SPD teams.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a central sterile department or surgical instrument room
• National CSPD certification from CBSPD or CRCST from IAHCSMM is required or obtainable within the timeframe

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments per AAMI standards and manufacturers’ instructions.
• Assemble and wrap instrument sets; prepare case carts as needed.
• Coordinate with Operating Room and SPD to ensure instruments are available for surgeries.
• Maintain records and perform daily sterilization tests and documentation.
