Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. in Phoenix is seeking a Sterile Processing & Distribution (SPD) Certified Technician to perform decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments in accordance with AAMI, OSHA and JCAHO standards.

The role requires knowledge of decontamination, instrumentation and sterilization, and a national CSPD or CRCST certification. A High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited SPD technician course are required, with preference for 3 years in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited CS/SPD Technician course required.
• 3 years experience in a central sterile department preferred.
• National certification CSPD or CRCST required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instrumentation according to manufacturers and AAMI standards.
• Receive soiled case carts and sort instruments for processing.
• Coordinate with OR to ensure needed instruments are available.
• Assemble case carts and maintain proper documentation for sterility.
• Sterilize instruments and test processes per policy; maintain records.
