Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate and sterilize instruments for the OR. You will work in the SPD department, ensuring proper handling of instruments, case carts, and equipment in compliance with AAMI and OSHA standards.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a CS/SPD Technician course, and national CSPD or CRCST certification. Prior experience and computer literacy are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CS/SPD Technician course required.
• 3 years of experience in a central sterile department or surgical instrument room preferred.
• National CSPD or CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instrumentation in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and AAMI standards.
• Liaise between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing to communicate needs for cases.
• Maintain records and ensure instruments are available and properly sorted for procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment according to IFU and AAMI standards; perform daily tests and document results.
• Assemble case carts and assist in preparing OR sets and supplies.
