Job summary

Cavender Auto Country-Ford is looking for an ASE Service Technician to join our growing team in Texas. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems, communicate with the service advisor, and provide accurate time estimates for customer-approved work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a service technician is required.
• Strong automotive background is expected.
• Manufacture ASE certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work per the repair order and dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, brakes, A/C).
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional repairs and time estimates.
• Complete tasks timely and maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
• Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Keep work area clean and follow safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

Here is what you will be doing:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Any other duties as assigned by Management

Here is what you will need:

• Previous experience as a service technician required
• Strong automotive background
• Manufacture ASE certifications required
• Submit to and successfully complete MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
• Valid driver's license
