Job summary

Schimmer Chevrolet is seeking a Certified Service Technician to join our team in Mendota, IL. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background with ASE experience and knowledge of vehicle diagnostics.

The role involves performing work on repair orders, diagnosing needed repairs, and ensuring service quality in a dealership setting. Related experience is highly valued, with opportunities for growth in a long-standing local dealer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of service technician experience preferred.
• ASE Certification is preferred but not required.
• Dealership experience is preferred but not required.
• B level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical and engine repair.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about needed additional service and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements.
