Job Summary:

The Certified School Nurse provides medical care to students and staff, manages health care systems, and trains staff for emergencies. The role includes overseeing immunizations, supervising nursing staff, and advising on health environment improvements.

Essential Functions:

• Teach nutrition and health classes
• Assess immunization records and create health plans
• Handle daily minor health issues and dispense medications
• Conduct screenings and oversee health programs
• Supervise nursing staff and develop policies
• Coordinate physicals and dental care
• Gather medical data for trips and reports
• Train staff on emergency procedures
• Order supplies and oversee health room operations

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in health or nursing; R.N. license (NCLEX-RN)
• Clearances: Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI

Certificates/Licenses:

• PA Certification in School Nursing (K-12)

Knowledge & Skills:

• CPR/AED, Child Abuse Laws, PA School Code & Health Guidelines
• Ability to perform screenings, manage diseases, provide first aid, and communicate health info effectively
