Position Summary

The School Nurse provides specialized care to students, managing medical attention for injuries and illnesses, referring students to healthcare providers, and interacting with parents. They design and oversee the school's healthcare system, train staff for emergencies, advise on environmental health, and oversee immunization and exclusion measures during communicable disease outbreaks.

Major Responsibilities

1. Assess students' immunization documentation and create health plans for students with specific needs
2. Implement healthcare initiatives within the school
3. Handle minor health issues that occur daily
4. Dispense prescribed medications to students
5. Provide information on human development
6. Conduct regular dental, hearing, and vision screenings
