Job summary

Torrey Pines Animal Hospital in Carmel Valley, San Diego, seeks a credentialed Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for a full-time role at $35/hour. You’ll work four 10-hour shifts weekly, collaborating with doctors and staff to deliver high-quality veterinary care.

You’ll place IV catheters, monitor anesthesia, run radiographs, perform dental cleanings, and assist with in-house lab work while educating clients and advocating for patients.

Qualifications

• Credentialed RVT with anesthesia and surgical nursing experience.
• Independent, capable of working with doctors and staff.
• Strong pharmacology knowledge and technical skills.
• Committed to patient care and client education.
• Willing to learn and adapt in a busy hospital.

Responsibilities

• Place IV catheters and draw blood as needed.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia for procedures.
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures alongside doctors.
• Take diagnostic and dental radiographs.
• Perform dental cleanings and cytology prep.
• Operate in-house lab equipment and calculate meds.
• Care for hospitalized patients and ensure smooth workflow.
• Educate clients and advocate for patients.
