Job summary

The RNFA collaborates with surgeons, provides intraoperative assistance, and supports quality patient care through exposure, hemostasis, cannulation, closure, and related tasks.

The role emphasizes teamwork with nurses and physicians, ensures safe operative flow across multiple specialties, and involves ongoing education and adherence to hospital standards.

Qualifications

• RNFA program completed to AORN standards or NASC/CCI recognition.
• Three years of prior clinical nursing experience.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• BLS and ALS certifications from AHA/ARC/Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons as RNFA during operative procedures and provide exposure and hemostasis.
• Coordinate with the Surgical Services team to ensure a safe and efficient operative flow.
• Review patient charts preoperatively and discuss history and medications with the surgeon.
• Serve as liaison between surgeon and patient family during procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and data collection for patient care.
