Job summary

St. David's Medical Center is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to administer and monitor respiratory care for patients. The role includes ventilator management, airway support, and collaboration with physicians to evaluate therapy effectiveness.

You will perform diagnostic tests, document results, and educate patients and families while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards. This on-site role supports a busy, full-service hospital in Texas.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with active license.
• "Administers respiratory care as ordered by physician and evaluates need for therapy."
• Demonstrates competency in caring for ventilated patients and airway management.
• Maintains safety and infection-control standards per hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanically ventilated patients.
• Assists with placement of artificial airways.
• Performs patient assessments including breath sounds and airway patency.
• Verifies ventilator function and patient status every shift.
• Assists transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Assists with neonatal resuscitation and stabilization as requested.
• Administers and monitors respiratory care treatments.
• Documents respiratory interventions and patient education.
