Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess and treat neonatal to adult patients. The daylight schedule is a 36-hour week with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation.

The role involves delivering prescribed respiratory therapies and documenting patient progress in the electronic medical record. Required credentials include an AS degree in Respiratory Care, CRT, and NE/IA licensure, along with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required.
• 3-6 months of on-the-job experience to gain knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and routines.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with NBRC required at time of hire.
• RCP license for work state (NE/IA) required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine modalities of respiratory care independently.
• Documents procedures in patient records and updates care plans.
• Assesses patients with acute and chronic illnesses and implements prescribed therapies.
• Communicates with care team and maintains progress notes.
• Ensures protocol therapy is followed and participates in patient satisfaction goals.
