Saint John Hospital, Inc. in Leavenworth, KS is hiring a Certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP I) for full-time, day shifts (12 hours, 7:00am–7:00pm). Eligible candidates receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The role requires RCP license, NBRC CRT, BLS, ACLS, and PALS with 2 years of acute care experience.

You will perform respiratory therapies, diagnostics, ventilator management, and participate in emergencies as needed, ensuring safe patient care and equipment sterility. Full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Required current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Required current NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• BLS certification at hire; maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire; maintain current.
• PALS certification within 60 days of hire; maintain current.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of acute care experience required.

Responsabilités

• Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe easier.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung function.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-support equipment.
• May participate in rapid response, providing airway management, intubation, and resuscitation as needed.
• Assess respiratory status, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and safely maintained.

We are seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist , also referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner I (RCP I) . The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor .

Responsibilities

• If you are a Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) you are encouraged to apply for this position!
• W ill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
• C onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients
• S et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
• M ay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations
• A ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
• E nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience required.
